Where is money?
Do you still remember that even the best piece of advice is useless unless
you follow it?
I should write only one thing: MONEY IS IN INTELIGENTLY DONE WORK AND NOWHERE
ELSE!!
Note that this statement excludes all the practices described in
where is money NOT?.
On the other hand, it describes all the successful methods of e-commerce. The
saying "no pain, no gain" proves true.
Selling your own products and services
This form of e-commerce is the most effective – it results in huge earnings,
but achieving success is very difficult.
You can be SUCCESS FUL if your product is good, there is a demand for it and
you have built trust among your customers.
A demand is a factor that you should focus on before you think of a product.
You have to find out what the market needs.
DON'T LOOK FOR MARKET FOR YOUR PRODUCT!! DO THE OPPOSITE!!
You have to find what people need and give it to them.
Focus on a particular group of customers. You will not sell a Mercedes to the
homeless, but surely you may dell one to jewelers. The broader the group the
better and it will be easier to convince them.
You will gain the customer trust when you offer a convenient payment plan,
warranty, and respect they deserve.
Selling someone's products and services - Reseller
In "virtual reality" the role of a reseller is a little different. It is much
easier to go into partnership with companies that want to use your services.
We owe it all to so-called AFFILIATE PROGRAMS. This is a marketing activity
that involves sharing of profits with middlemen, who are willing to sell your
products, which leads to your market expansion.
As a member of an Affiliate Program you don't have to care about delivering a product or
service, or even how it is paid for.
All you have to do is to make a website that will entice customers to the
company that started the program (a direct link to the company is placed on your
pages).
The link has a specially coded login, which you receive during the
registration process, and product code. When a customer has clicked the link, he
or she will be taken to the original site of the product. If a purchase is made,
you will be marked as a seller by a special script on that page. As a reseller
you will receive a previously agreed-upon share. When a certain pre-set amount
has been collected in your account, the company will make a payment to you.
I have to get one thing straight – making a website that is to sell a given
product is extremely difficult and it requires a lot of input on your part
(planning and marketing).
Advertising
Advertising is a good way of making a living (most profits come from it). To
most of the most popular websites advertising is the main source of income,
which may be just fabulous.
Advertising is one of the most difficult forms of Internet business
activities, but the profit share obtained from it may be the largest.
The whole idea is to hit the jackpot with Internet users and make your
website popular among them.
Like in case of selling your own products you must target a particular group
of people and make your service theme-oriented. Services "for all" are almost
never profitable (except for a few largest ones – huge initial investment)!
The selection of a theme is simpler than you think.
WRITE WHAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN!
You don't have to be an expert, this will come over time. At the beginning,
write what you know and what can be helpful to others.
You have to choose either a WWW service or a newsletter (E-magazine) service.
I recommend the latter because:

Your subscribers are interested in the
entire content of each issue (WWW service users are focused more on a
particular part of your service and the rest is of no interest to them).
In other words – they read from cover to cover.

You will be able to negotiate a better
advertisement fee and will have more advertisers approaching your
business. This is due to a specific character of your readers – adverts in
a specialist magazine are more effective because they are targeted at
potential buyers of a particular product. (Look at the section above).

The cost of running a newsletter is low.
Summary
To start your e-commerce activity (your own e-business) you should make a
decision about its form.
Nothing stands in the way of combining different activities, but you should
always have ONE that is your hallmark.
